18.1 The Lead Member considered a report by the Director of Children’s Services regarding a Notice of Motion in relation to the County Council’s response to selective education within East Sussex.
18.2 RESOLVED to recommend to the County Council to note the contents of the report and adopt an amended Motion as set out in paragraph 3.1 of the report.
Reasons
18.3 East Sussex County Council, as set out in its “Excellence for All”, retains its commitment to ensuring an excellent education for all children and young people in the county, irrespective of the type of school, college or setting they attend. In light of the success of the East Sussex Excellence for All strategy it is recommended that the amended Notice of Motion is adopted.
