East Sussex County Council operate a chargeable waste service at household waste recycling sites (HWRSs) for non-household waste (rubble, soil, plasterboard, tyres, and asbestos). In June 2023, Defra issued an update advising that they intend to limit councils from charging for DIY type waste. We are seeking Lead member’s approval to amend the Chargeable Waste scheme for it to remain legally compliant should Government proceed with the expected changes.
