Report by the Director of Communities, Economy and Transport

6.1       The Lead Member considered a report by the Director of Communities, Economy and Transport, together with exempt information contained in a later agenda item.

DECISIONS

6.2       RESOLVED to (1) approve that East Sussex County Council act as guarantor for a value not exceeding £0.77m to a deed of indemnity between Sea Change Sussex and Rother District Council in relation to the compulsory purchase of land relating to the North Bexhill Access Road for the reasons in the report together with information contained in a later agenda item; and

(2)        delegate authority to the Director of Communities, Economy and Transport to approve the terms of any agreements, and to take all other necessary actions, in respect of recommendation 1 above.

Reasons

6.3       Sea Change Sussex is a key delivery partner for the County Council in achieving its ambitions for driving economic growth in the county. The North Bexhill Access Road is one of the Local Growth Fund schemes to come forward in East Sussex and its delivery will help unlock significant employment space and create jobs in the A21/A259 Bexhill/Hastings Growth Corridor.

To consider excluding the public and press from the meeting for the remaining agenda item on the grounds that if the public and press were present there would be disclosure to them of exempt information as specified in paragraph 3 of Part 1 of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended), namely information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information).

7.1       RESOLVED to exclude the public and press from the meeting for the remaining agenda items on the grounds that if the public and press were present there would be disclosure to them of exempt information as specified in paragraph 3 of Part 1 of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended), namely information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information).
