Report by the Police and Crime Commissioner – attached.

The attached report provides an update on the implementation of the new Local Policing Model. The Panel is asked to consider and comment on the report.

77.    The Panelreceivedand noteda report fromthe Commissioner regarding progress on workto develop the Local PolicingModel(copyappended to the signed versionof the minutes).The developmentof a new modelwasintended to instigate a newlocalpolicingprogramme basedon three key areas: prevention; partnerships; andinvestigations.The ChiefConstable would present to the Commissioner the outcomes of this workanda proposal fora future model.

78.    The Commissioner was askedifshe was content withthe workundertaken on the new modeltodate.It was explained that work was stillata relativelyearly stage of developmentbuta positive elementof the new modelwas the resolution centre which the Commissioner had visited recently.The centre helpedthe Force to reduce the levelof demandon local policing and was a significantelementof the newmodelin the future.
