18/06/2021 - he East Sussex (U3079 Lancaster Road, St Leonards) ref: 1487    Recommendations Approved

To allow Clarke and Baker Surfacing to connect a new sewer, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Decision:

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3079 Tile Barn Road – U3050 Church Wood Drive/Marline Road – U3045 Blackman Avenue – B2159 Battle Road – U3075 Old Church Road and vice versa.

The Order commences on 21 June 2021 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 21 June 2021 & 13 August 2021 depending upon the weather conditions.

18/06/2021 - The East Sussex (C208 Park Road & C343 New Road, Hellingly)(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2021 ref: 1486    Recommendations Approved

To allow O'Halloran & O'Brien Ltd to carry out works for a new road layout, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

24/06/2021 - Extra Care Housing - Contract Awards ref: 1491    Recommendations Approved

To seek approval from the Lead Member for Adult Social Care and Health to award Extra Care contracts, prior to a competitive tender for new contract awards in January 2023.

Decision:

9.1       The Lead Member Adult Social Care and Health considered a report seeking approval to make direct awards for the three contracts relating to the care provision in the East Sussex County Council’s six Extra Care housing units.

9.2       The Lead Member RESOLVED to:

1. Agree to the direct award of the three care contracts that relate to the Council’s Extra Care housing provision, as set out in paragraph 2.6, to the current providers for a 15-month period, to 30 January 2023; and

2. delegate authority to the Director of Adult Social Care to take all necessary actions to give effect to the implementation of the above recommendation in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

Reason

9.3       The direct award of the three care contracts that relate to the Council’s Extra Care housing provision, to the current providers for a 15-month period, to 30 January 2023 enables the Council to undertake more comprehensive engagement and consultation with providers and clients. This will inform the future service model and align these services to the Home Care contracts for tender via a joint approved list to ensure service resilience and best value.
