NOTICE is hereby given that East Sussex County Council have made the above Order under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, coming into operation on 22 November 2019 which introduces new or revises the existing parking, waiting and loading restrictions along the following lengths of road:

The previously advertised proposal and associated changes insofar as they relate to one of the disabled bays in both Cornfield Road & Hyde Gardens along with the taxi bay in Cornfield Road (west side) have been abandoned for operational reasons.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act of 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Road Traffic Regulation Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks of the date the Order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

22/11/2019 - The East Sussex (U7321 Dutchells Way, Lower Willingdon & U2255 St Martins Road, Eastbourne)(Temporary Prohibition of Waiting & Temporary No Loading/Unloading) Order 2019 ref: 1110    Recommendations Approved

To enable AON UK Ltd, working on behalf of Barratt Homes to safely access the development site with construction traffic, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily impose parking restrictions on the following lengths of road:

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained.

The Order commences 22 November 2019 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 22 November and 21 May 2021 depending upon the weather conditions.

22/11/2019 - The East Sussex (A259 Station Approach, Newhaven)(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2019 ref: 1109    Recommendations Approved

To allow Network Rail to carry out civil engineering works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic signed as follows;
Westbound via A259 New Road – A259 Flyover Slip on eastbound – The Drove – B&Q Roundabout – The Drove - South Way - Lewes Road - North Way – The Drove – North Quay
Eastbound via A259 Drove Road – The Drove – South Way – Lewes Road – North Way – The Drove – Flyover slip off – A26 New Road.

The Order commenced 14 October 2019 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 00.01 hours on 28 November to 08:00 hrs on 30 November depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow Centurian Site Services on behalf of Network Rail to carry out civil engineering works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

The Order commenced 4 November 2019 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as follows, depending upon the weather conditions;

From 01:00 hrs on 24 November to 04:30 hrs on 25 November 2019
From 00:01 hrs on 28 November to 08:00 hrs on 29 November 2019
