To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

The Order commences 18 July 2022 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 19:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 18 & 29 July 2022 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow O’Halloran & O’Brien Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Hadlow Down Road - from the junction with C11 Western Road to the junction with U7578 Steep Road

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C11 Hastingford Lane - School Lane – A272 Main Road - Curtains Hill - Pound Green - High Street, Station Road – C402 Hurstwood Road - Chillies Lane – A26 Uckfield Road – C254 Sheep Plain - Hurtis Hill – C11 Fermor Road - Walshes Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 July 2022 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 16 July & 16 August 2022 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Priory Road - from the junction with A22 London Road to the junction with C2 Hindleap Lane

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C2 Hindleap Lane – A22 Lewes Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 18 July 2022 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 18 July & 17 September 2022 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following lengths of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:-

Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit
Holtye Road - from Cleavers Farm to Lych Gate

The Order commences 18 July 2022 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place between 18 & 26 July 2022.

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following lengths of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:-

The Order commences 15 July 2022 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place from 09:00hrs to 16:00hrs on 15 July 2022.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic westbound/northbound via U2258 Princess Road - B2104 Langney Rise - B2191 / U2221 Willingdon Drove - A22 Shinewater roundabout and vice versa & eastbound/southbound via A2290 Lottbridge roundabout / Cross Levels Way - A2021 Rodmill roundabout / Kings Drive / Prideaux Road / Lewes Road / Bedfordwell Road / Whitley Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 8 July 2022 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken for 1 day from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 8 & 13 July 2022 depending upon the weather conditions.

The Order commences 13 July 2022 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 19:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 13 July & 17 August 2022 depending upon the weather conditions.

Notice is hereby given that East Sussex County Council have made an Experimental Order on 28 June 2022, coming into operation on 8 July 2022 under Sections 9, 10(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, for a period not exceeding 18 months which will experimentally introduce the following restriction:-

Experimental No Waiting At Any Time


New Lydd Road
- north side: from the junction of Farm Lane eastwards for a distance of 62 metres
- south side: from the junction of Farm Lane eastwards for a distance of 60 metres
- north-east side: from the junction of New Lydd Road north westwards for a distance of 15 metres
- south-west side: from the junction of New Lydd Road north westwards for a distance of 5 metres

Camber Road
- north side: from the junction of Farm Lane westwards for a distance of 594 metres to the eastern end of the layby
from the western end of the layby, a point 715 metres west of Farm Lane, westwards for a distance of 778 metres
- south side: from the junction of Farm Lane westwards for a distance of 1502 metres

The purpose of this Order is to prevent vehicles from parking on the grass verge during busy periods to ensure emergency vehicles are able to pass safely when the need arises.

East Sussex County Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions should be continued in force indefinitely by means of an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (4), 3(2), 4(2), 32, 35(1) and (3), 45, 49, 51, 52, 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Any person wishing to make an objection or other representation concerning this Experimental Order being continued must do so in writing, together with the grounds on which it is made, to Communities, Economy & Transport, Parking Services, B Floor, East Sussex County Council, County Hall, St. Anne’s Crescent, Lewes, East Sussex BN7 1UE or email parking.escc@eastsussex.gov.uk by 7 January 2023 quoting ref ETRO/466 (or if the Order is subsequently varied or modified by an Order made under Section 9, 10(1) or 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, six months from the date of coming into operation of such variation or modification).

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Experimental Order or of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within six weeks of the date the Order is made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

The Order commences 4 July 2022 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 4 & 15 July 2022 depending upon the weather conditions.

To facilitate the safety of participants, organisers and the travelling public attending the Love Supreme Festival in Glynde, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily impose restrictions in the following lengths of road:-
